Weather Around the World
When you wake up in the morning, do you look out your window and imagine what kind of day it will be? Will it be hot, cold, rainy, sunny, snowing, windy, cloudy or clear… will it be a beautiful day? Do you sometimes wish you were somewhere else when the weather is unbearably hot or cold? Do you look forward to sunny days or do you wish for rain? On any given day, somewhere around the world, someone is experiencing your ideal day.
When you hear about extreme weather, can you imagine what it is like? Have you experienced a severe drought, destructive hurricanes or tornados? Have winds created dust storms or fueled brush or forest fires where you live? Have you had to help clear snow in order to leave your home? Have you created ice houses that last all winter? Do you long for a little sunshine or a little rain? Somewhere around the world, someone is probably experiencing weather as extreme as yours or worse.
At Imagiverse, we wonder about weather too! We invite classrooms and individuals around the world to share their weather stories with us. All ages and grade levels are encouraged to participate. We would like all participants to submit information about the weather in their part of the world approximately once per month. You may submit information more or less often, or sit back and just read the weather reports coming in.
These reports may be simple or scientific. If you or your school have training in meteorology and would like to share more detailed information, please do! If your students just want to report the temperature, that is fine too. We would also like you to share how the weather affects your life.
To participate, just send your weather reports to the Activity Coordinator. Be sure to select “Weather” as the subject:
