4 May 2012:  New cards arrived from Chile, France, Madagascar and Taiwan.


30 April 2012:  Added cards from Finland, Singapore, Turkey and Urkraine.


19 April 2012:  A new card from New South Wales, Australia arrived today!


17 April 2012:  Received and uploaded cards from Belarus, China, Germany, England, Netherlands, Poland and Russia. 


7 April 2012:  More new cards uploaded from The Netherlands, Germany, Ukraine and Mexico.


2 April 2012:  Upload new postcards from The Netherlands and Germany.


31 March 2012:  Uploaded many new Postcrossing postcards, including 26 cards that I missed before!  I am not sure how that happened but I am sure you will enjoy them even if they are posted a wee bit late.  I also received my first card from Moldova!


27 March 2012:  Posted a card from Portugal and two from China.


22 March 2012:  Added postcards from Japan and Taiwan.


15 March 2012:  Added a new postcard from Belarus.  Daniki (potato pancakes) are the national dish of Belarus and sound yummy! 


14 March 2012:  Marceline, Missouri, the home town of Walt Disney, opened their town to visitors from Disney’s official D23 Fan Club.  The mayor proclaimed March 14th, 2012 as D23 Day in Marceline.  An official Marceline, Missouri postmark was also unveiled that day and I got a first day postmark.  I have uploaded two very special cards from that historic day... I was there!!


12 March 2012:  Added postcards from Japan, Portugal and Germany.


6 March 2012:  Added 5 new postcards from Russia, Finland and the Netherlands.


29 February 2012:  Happy Leap Year Day!  How nice it is to have one extra day in the year!  I added postcards from Poland and Taiwan.


26 February 2012:  Greetings received from Nova Scotia, Canada and Ljubljana, Slovenia and posted at our Postcrossing link.  Lucija also sent a nice letter from Slovenia.


24 February 2012:  Added new postcards from Nepal and Germany.


22 February 2012:  Added 5 new postcards from Belarus, England, Netherlands, Portugal and Ukraine.


16 February 2012:  Two new postcards added from Russia and Slovenia!


14 February 2012:  I have added postcards from Belarus, Canada, Germany and Russia.  Also, we have a new entry in We Love Books.  Check out the Russian folktale villains and a link to Russian and Ukrainian folktales that have been translated to English.


6 February 2012:  My mail box was happy this week.  Lots of new cards!  I posted cards from China, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Great Britain, Netherlands, Russia and Singapore!


23 Jan 2012:  Happy Year of the Dragon!  Today I uploaded postcards from Russia, Netherlands and Taiwan.  Come back often!

5 January 2012:  Happy New Year to all!  We have added 3 new postcards on our Postcrossing page.


30 December 2011:  Goodbye 2011 and a very happy 2012 to all our Imagiverse friends and fellow Postcrossers!  We have added several more postcards!  Come back often.  :-)


14 December 2011:  We added more postcards and the paper dolls, paper hands and a few candy wrappers have been distributed to the participating classrooms.


We hope all of you enjoy a happy holiday season, no matter what you are celebrating at this time of year.  If you are not celebrating anything special, in your part of the world, we hope you are celebrating “life”  every day!


5 December 2011:  Happy Birthday Walt Disney!


We are putting the envelopes together for the Children of the World Paper Doll/Paper Hand exchange.  Thank you to all the participants!  I think you will love the dolls and hands you receive in the mail.  If you missed this exchange (or sent late), there will be another after the New Year.  Stay tuned for more information and be sure to join our Lighting the Spark e-newsletter for updated information.


I just uploaded some new Postcrossing Postcards.  I was particularly impressed by the beauty of the Moscow subway.  I included a YouTube link in the caption so you can walk through the subway corridors and experience a visit to Moscow!


29 November 2011:  We have started uploading images and photographs from our Children of the World paper doll/paper hand exchange!  Visit our link to Countries of the World.


28 November 2011:  It is almost time to mail back the paper hands and paper dolls that have been sent to Imagiverse for our exchange.  It is so much fun to learn about holidays from the students.  I love looking through all the received dolls and hands and I read every message!  We have also added more postcards from our Postcrossing.COM exchange.  Be sure to check out Postcrossing.COM if you enjoy postcards from around the world.  Check our Imagiverse.COM link to see the cards and messages we have received.  In less than two years, Imagiverse has exchanged nearly 150 cards!


9 November 2011:  We announced the 2011 Hands Around the World/Children of the World, paper doll and paper hands exchange.  If you did not receive the email, contact the Activity Coordinator to be added to our email list.

2 November 2011:  We still don’t have the changes to Imagiverse.ORG ready for you but we are working on it.  Thank you for your patience.  We are preparing a combined Paper Hands/Paper Doll exchange for early Spring.  If you have ideas for a theme you would like to see us use, please contact the Activity Coordinator

4 October 2011:  Thank you to the many teachers who have contacted us about our exchanges for the 2011/2012 school year.  We are currently working on updating our main Imagiverse.ORG site .  We DO plan to have another exchange for this school year but we have not had the time to coordinated it... yet.  Stay tuned!


Keep checking our Postcrossing pages for new postcards and messages from around the World.  We highly recommend Postcrossing.COM and hope you check it out for yourself.  It is very educational and great fun to receive real mail from so many other countries!!


8 August 2011:  Happy 10th Anniversary Imagiverse.  It is hard to believe that Imagiverse.ORG was launched 10 years ago! 


4 August 2011:  Since our last update, several more postcards have been added at Imagiverse.COM.  


Imagiverse will again be sponsoring a Hands Around the World exchange and a paper doll exchange between classrooms in 2011/12.  If you haven’t done so already, please join our Lighting the Spark newsletter/email list to receive information. 


We have had several request for a U.S.A. only postcard exchange between classrooms.  Unfortunately, our Team of volunteers is stretched thin and we are unable to coordinate an exchange.  However, if there is a teacher out there who would like to coordinate one, we can help you advertise.  We highly recommend Postcrossing.COM.  Check it out!


21 June 2011:  Just added a lot of new postcards from Postcrossing.COM .  Andrey sent 14 cards from Russia!  Thank you  Andrey for the wonderful contribution to our site!


1 June 2011:  We have posted two new interviews at Imagiverse.ORG.  David Flatau is a musician and retired teacher in the U.K.; Keith Robinson is a cartoonist and video game developer.  Both interviews are fun to read and include embedded YouTube videos.  We have also continued adding postcards to the Postcrossing pages right here at Imagiverse.COM.


3 May 2011:  Our Postcrossing pages continue to grow!  We have received over 100  cards so far.  I have also added the many international cards that have not yet been uploaded at Imagiverse.ORG.  Enjoy reading the words from people who live in the various countries by going to the blog.

1 January 2011:  Happy New Year!  If you wish to exchange paper dolls or candy wrappers, please contact the Activity Coordinator.  We will do another exchange in the Spring.


28 September 2010:  You can start now creating your paper dolls, paper hands, and collecting candy wrappers for our Fall exchanges!  Information can be found in the: 2010-2011 activity pages.  Deadlines for all the Fall exchanges will be no later than November 15th, however some may be sooner so start now if you wish to participate.


5 September 2010:  Added information on U.S. only postcard exchange.  Help us grow!


17 July 2010:  Added 2010/2011 Activities pages.  New interviews have been added at Imagiverse.ORG.


4 February 2010:  Just added a new blog page.  Imagiverse has joined Postcrossing.COM and our first 5 postcards from Corona, California have been uploaded.  These cards are currently traveling to Finland, Germany, Russia, The Netherlands and Italy.  When they arrive at their destinations our address will be given to five random Postcrossing participants.  We look forward to receiving postcards from many interesting places!


2 February 2010:  Happy 1st birthday to my baby granddaughter, Jaydin!   Happy Groundhog day to everyone else!!  :-)  The Children of the World dolls will be distributed soon.  In the meantime, I have scanned many of the dolls and uploaded the paragraphs from participating classrooms.  There is even a SLIDE SHOW of the paper dolls. 


13 January 2010:  Happy New Year!  Holidays Around the World was the theme for our Fall 2009 Children of the World exchange.  Learn about Christmas, Hanukkah and other holidays as celebrated by children in different parts of the world.  Click HERE.


8 December 2009:  Added links to three templates for Children of the World Paper Dolls:  Template1 , Template2, Template3


2 December 2009:  Paragraphs and scanned images from the Fall 2009 Hands Around the World Exchange have been added.  We are still in the process of uploading and enhancing the images.  The theme was “Animals Around the World”.  Students in Austria, Canada, California, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Texas participated. 


22 September 2009:  Added paragraphs and postcards from 4 additional participants whose cards unfortunately did not make it in time to be added to the mailing list of confirmed participants.  They will be sending their cards in hope that the other participants reciprocate.


21 September 2009:  Added the postcards and paragraphs from the final 5 Postcard Exchange participants.  There are a total of 39 confirmed participants.  Towards the end of October, there will be an announcement about the Hands Around the World and Children of the World exchanges.


20 September 2009:  The postcards and paragraphs from all confirmed participants have been posted on these pages.  Click on Postcard Exchange from the main Imagiverse.COM pages to view.  Note that you can download the images or print the pages for your class, even if you are not a confirmed participant.


17 September 2009:  We have added postcards and paragraphs from six additional classrooms.  Note:  deadline is quickly approaching.  From this point, participants will be accepted in the order in which their first 5 cards are received.  Additional participants from California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington will only be accepted if there are less than 45 participants on the deadline (Sept 20th).  Those four states are already represented in this exchange by multiple schools. 



14 September 2009:  The Postcard pages have been updated with the paragraphs and postcards from confirmed participants.  All interested participants should be registered and have their first 5 postcards in the mail by tomorrow, 15 September.  The postcards MUST BE RECEIVED at Imagiverse before Sunday, September 20th.  The only exception is for participants outside of North America who are being handled a bit differently.  On September 20th, the Postcard Exchange Coordinator will compile the addresses of confirmed participants and send those addresses, via email, to each participant. 


As stated previously, there will be NO EXTENSIONS of this deadline and only one postcard exchange this year.


Towards the end of October, educators will receive information about the Hands Around the World and Children of the World exchanges.


2 September 2009:  Registration for the Postcard exchange is underway.  Paragraphs and postcards are being posted as we confirm participation.  The mailing addresses will be sent to the participants on September 20th.  There will be only ONE postcard exchange this year.  If you are interested in participating, don’t delay.

22 July 2009:  We are in the process of setting up activities for the 2009/2010 school year.  Our activities and exchanges are for all ages and can be adapted to fit many curriculum needs and lesson plans.  Please feel free to notify us, if you have an idea for an activity or extension that we can add to better suit your needs.
