What’s New

17 July 2010:  Added 2010/2011 Activities pages.  New interviews have been added at Imagiverse.ORG.

4 February 2010:  Just added a new blog page.  Imagiverse has joined Postcrossing.COM and our first 5 postcards from Corona, California have been uploaded.  These cards are currently traveling to Finland, Germany, Russia, The Netherlands and Italy.  When they arrive at their destinations our address will be given to five random Postcrossing participants.  We look forward to receiving postcards from many interesting places!

2 February 2010:  Happy 1st birthday to my baby granddaughter, Jaydin!   Happy Groundhog day to everyone else!!  :-)  The Children of the World dolls will be distributed soon.  In the meantime, I have scanned many of the dolls and uploaded the paragraphs from participating classrooms.  There is even a SLIDE SHOW of the paper dolls.

13 January 2010:  Happy New Year!  Holidays Around the World was the theme for our Fall 2009 Children of the World exchange.  Learn about Christmas, Hanukkah and other holidays as celebrated by children in different parts of the world.  Click HERE.

8 December 2009:  Added links to three templates for Children of the World Paper Dolls:  Template1 , Template2, Template3

2 December 2009:  Paragraphs and scanned images from the Fall 2009 Hands Around the World Exchange have been added.  We are still in the process of uploading and enhancing the images.  The theme was “Animals Around the World”.  Students in Austria, Canada, California, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Texas participated.

22 September 2009:  Added paragraphs and postcards from 4 additional participants whose cards unfortunately did not make it in time to be added to the mailing list of confirmed participants.  They will be sending their cards in hope that the other participants reciprocate.

21 September 2009:  Added the postcards and paragraphs from the final 5 Postcard Exchange participants.  There are a total of 39 confirmed participants.  Towards the end of October, there will be an announcement about the Hands Around the World and Children of the World exchanges.

20 September 2009:  The postcards and paragraphs from all confirmed participants have been posted on these pages.  Click on Postcard Exchange from the main Imagiverse.COM pages to view.  Note that you can download the images or print the pages for your class, even if you are not a confirmed participant.

17 September 2009:  We have added postcards and paragraphs from six additional classrooms.  Note:  deadline is quickly approaching.  From this point, participants will be accepted in the order in which their first 5 cards are received.  Additional participants from California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington will only be accepted if there are less than 45 participants on the deadline (Sept 20th).  Those four states are already represented in this exchange by multiple schools.

14 September 2009:  The Postcard pages have been updated with the paragraphs and postcards from confirmed participants.  All interested participants should be registered and have their first 5 postcards in the mail by tomorrow, 15 September.  The postcards MUST BE RECEIVED at Imagiverse before Sunday, September 20th.  The only exception is for participants outside of North America who are being handled a bit differently.  On September 20th, the Postcard Exchange Coordinator will compile the addresses of confirmed participants and send those addresses, via email, to each participant.

As stated previously, there will be NO EXTENSIONS of this deadline and only one postcard exchange this year.

Towards the end of October, educators will receive information about the Hands Around the World and Children of the World exchanges.

2 September 2009:  Registration for the Postcard exchange is underway.  Paragraphs and postcards are being posted as we confirm participation.  The mailing addresses will be sent to the participants on September 20th.  There will be only ONE postcard exchange this year.  If you are interested in participating, don’t delay.

22 July 2009:  We are in the process of setting up activities for the 2009/2010 school year.  Our activities and exchanges are for all ages and can be adapted to fit many curriculum needs and lesson plans.  Please feel free to notify us, if you have an idea for an activity or extension that we can add to better suit your needs.

Please be sure to register for Lighting the Spark, our email newsletter.  Through Lighting the Spark, we are able to inform you directly of upcoming activities and deadlines.  Note: Please do not use a school email address as your primary address.  Many districts block incoming computer generated and bulk emails.  Our newsletters often get blocked or delayed when sent to school servers.  Click on the link to register or to update your registration:
